HOTMILK / Joey B & Bobby Irish...
Location:

Unknown

Joey B and Bobby Irish both started collecting records at an early age, both finding themselves drawn to Jamaican music via the homegrown sounds of hip-hop, hardcore and jungle. After bumping into each other at soundsystem dances in and around south Manchester, it wasn't long before they linked up to form their own sound, Guiding Star Hi-Fi (alongside close friend Max Toynbee). The HOTMILK promotion was launched soon after.

Approaching it's 7th anniversary, HOTMILK is one of Manchester's longest running reggae sessions, representing the full spectrum of Jamaican music, from rocksteady to ragga, bashment back to bluebeat. Over the years HOTMILK has played host to a wide range of guest acts from sound-system veterans like Carl Meeks, Tippa Irie and General Levy to relative new-blood like The Heatwave and Toddla T.
