Martín Giraldo

Sound engineer, digital strategist, cultural agitator and graduate from Full Sail University.

Independent entrepreneur since 1997, worked for StarMedia Networks in New York City after his company was acquired in 1999.

He is currently the Cultural Manager for Central America, Caribbean and some countries of South America for Red Bull, and Executive Producer and Co-Manager of the colombian tropical band Ondatrópica.

Previously he was Co-founder and Director of La Cápsula (Bogotá, Colombia), a digital studio that developed web strategies and investigated the impact of free culture in the creative industries. He has more than 15 years of experience in managing projects related to the independent urban music scene.

In 2004, he participated in the creation of one of the first web radios in Colombia called Radio Cápsula, evolving into a lab that investigates and socialize strategies for the circulation, promotion, marketing and management of music using the precepts of free culture and a intensive use of new technologies. Today the broadcast is 24/7 and focus on independent Latin American urban sounds, with emphasis on electronic, hip-hop and tropical music.

In 2010 he was in charge of leading the team responsible of Un-Convention #10.

In 36 hours I should be arriving to Uganda. I will be posting pictures and notes every day starting monday, so stay tune.
